What is GD Core?

GD Core is a plugin that houses the core functionalities for GD website builds. It holds the theme and the main plugins needed to build your site. The amount of plugins vary by plan type, to hold all the available functionalities the plan type includes.

The theme and main plugins all require license keys. GD Core holds all of these keys. So on the plugins page If you see a plugin that needs an update and says something like “UPDATE UNAVAILABLE! Please activate the license to enable automatic updates for this plugin” it means that you need to update this plugin through core. From the plugins page, make sure GD core is up to its latest version then go to Dashboard > Appearance > GD cORe.

1. Go to Dashboard > GD cORe
   • The first tab is for GD Core information – The information screen contains the following boxes:
     
     • Plugin Settings – this contains information relate to the GD core plugin
     • Website settings – this contains information about your website including theme, plugins, whether your cdn is enabled or not and other information useful to builders
     • Tools – this box provides a place to flush your website cache, although the same task can be easily completd from the admin bar dropdown
     • Unsupported plugins – this box is important because if you decide to install plugins that arent supported by WDS, they will show up here. Its good to keep an eye on this section for if something breaks due to the installation of an unsupported plugin and helps you separate them from the supported ones incase you need to disable them to troubleshoot
   • Reauth – if you havent logged into your site for a while or updated your plugins, you may notice the following message when you click on GD Core from your dashboard “token expired” with a button that says “Reauth” – click this button to return it back to normal and then go and update GD Core if needed from plugins
   • The second tab is for plugins – You can activate and update any of the plugins from this screen
   • The third tab is for theme – If the theme needs an update it will say that here and a button will be present that will allow you to update the theme
   • The fourth tab is for Site Audit – if you want to test the speed, performance and seo of your site you can generate a report here.
