GD Core – Plugins & Theme

In GD Core, the second tab is for plugins – You can activate and update any of the plugins from this screen. The third tab is for theme – If the theme needs an update it will say that here and a button will be present that will allow you to update the theme.

The theme and main plugins all require license keys. GD Core holds all of these keys. So on the plugins page If you see a plugin that needs an update and says something like “UPDATE UNAVAILABLE! Please activate the license to enable automatic updates for this plugin” it means that you need to update this plugin through core.  From the plugins page, make sure GD core is up to its latest version then go to Dashboard > Appearance > GD cORe.

  • The second tab is for plugins – You can activate and update any of the plugins from this screen
    • Sometimes plugins can release versions that have the tendency to break your site. We at WDS update GD Core after we test the stability of each of the plugins it holds. We want to make sure that when we release an update that the plugin is stable and wont clash with anything or break anything on the site.
    • You may run across a plugin on the plugins page that says that an update is available but if you check the plugin in core, it shows the plugin is up to date. This means that the plugin released an update that we haven’t yet declared is stable so we haven’t released the update to core. You can leave the plugin as is because it is at the most stable version it can be at, and let core show you the update when its ready.
    • Every few weeks we will release an update of GD core with stable updates for all the included plugins.
  • The third tab is for theme – If the theme needs an update it will say that here and a button will be present that will allow you to update the theme
